What is Shea Butter used for?

Being a main ingredient in B&W Body butters, I think it's only right to talk about why I decided to make it a main ingredient. So let's get into it.

Firstly, you should understand what Shea butter actually is. So here's the definition:

It's a fatty substance that is obtained from the nut of a Shea tree, usually found in Africa (I source mine from Ghana.) Shea butter can be used on the skin, body, hair and even in food!

It has an oily consistency which deeply nourishes the skin without causing it to react or become irritated. It also has a very versatile texture, meaning it can be thickened into a body butter or reverted to it's oil form for other cosmetic or beauty products.

So now we know where it comes from and a little bit about it's texture, why did I decide to make it a main ingredient in my body butters?

Well, there's many reasons why, but here's a few. First, the fact that it is a natural compound that can help heal and nourish the skin was a huge reason why I decided to use it. I wanted to make sure that my ingredients are not only natural, but effective & actually work too.

Shea butter helps provide relief to itchy or irritated skin, also naturally reducing inflammation. This was a huge thing for me as I have extremely sensitive skin that reacts to literally everything I put on it. After seeing the results of how Shea butter can help heal skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and more, it was a no brainier for me.

Helping people feel confident in their own skin and helping them through choosing holistic ingredients is just a bonus.

With all its healing and nourishing benefits, It is also a great anti ageing ingredient. Helping to improve the elasticity of the skin and providing a smooth texture. I mean, it really does do it all.

If you don't currently have Shea butter in your skin and body routine, I would highly recommend that you add it, your future self will thank you ;)

Shea butter actually works well for stretch marks and is also pregnancy safe! With new mums, it can be hard to find clean and effective products to use on yourself and your baby, which is why I chose to use Shea butter, because it's suitable for all ages and skin types.

Try Shea Butter for yourself and see your skin transform, you can even get 10% off your first order!
